Airport Redevelopment

    

Major airport redevelopment continues with major upgrades to airside pavements and infrastructure to improve safety, security, flexibility and capability. Completed projects include a second taxiway (view video), an asphalt overlay and grooving of the runway and airfield lighting upgrades PHIA Airfield Lighting Project PHIA Airfield Lighting Project.  

The transformation has moved landside with the commencement of underground civil works and car parking and ground transport redevelopment works. Project Lead: NS Group  Builder: ADCO

Port Hedland International Airport (PHIA) has an Industrial Park development within the airport boundary, with the only direct RAV10 road-train access from the Great Northern Highway in Port Hedland. Community Update - Stage 2 Works

We advise airport users that new, temporary road access arrangements will be in place at Port Hedland International Airport, from 10 October Stage 2: Information for all road access and vehicle parking

Landside redevelopment Stage 2 is underway. This construction phase impacts road networks, parking, vehicle and pedestrian access to facilities on the airport. Safety is paramount, we ask every airport user to adhere to signposted speed limits and directions by airport personnel. We appreciate your patience while we are transforming the airport.

PHIA seek the cooperation of all Airport users to be observant and follow directions and speed restrictions for the duration of these works. We thank you for your patience during the transformation.
